Position Purpose
The Education Specialist facilitates the teaching, content and training requirements of the Indian business development plan and other strategic goals of CBLA. You will be supporting the Regional Manager in the India and the global Commercial Team in a range of of localized plans and initiatives through coordination with the Global Education Team and external stakeholders which may include language schools and universities. This will entail developing new pathways to ensure that opportunities with external stakeholders will convert into projects as well as providing expert advise to the Global Education Team on the demands of the Indian market.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
OET Educational Strategy
- Devise and implement an Educational strategy that helps drive revenue and grow market share for CBLA through the teaching and learning of OET
- Monitor trends within the English Language Teaching and Assessment sectors to ensure CBLA follows best pedagogic practice for teacher training and candidate preparation
- Actively seek out new Educational opportunities for OET in existing and new markets that will assist with driving revenue
- Manage Education consultants to ensure effective collaboration to support delivery of overall revenue targets for CBLA
- Engaging with Indian strategic partners to create content from A1 to B1 CEFR level
Promote and Establish OET in the Education Sector:
- Attend and present at educational conferences
- Develop and run teacher training and candidate workshops in key markets as required
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to provide quality preparation content to use as promotional currency in the market, including via social media channels etc.
- Seek out and convert opportunities to have OET ‘embedded’ into curricula in higher education sectors, through consulting on curriculum design
- Work with NEAS and other educational regulators to further increase OET’s standing in the sector, via joint initiatives, special projects etc.
- Travel across South Asia is a requirement of the role
Product Portfolio Management & Content Development:
- Actively drive and support CBLA’s wider goals for product diversification through the development of OET preparation content and resources
- Management of the Preparation Provider Programme; ensure the commercial benefits of PPP are maximised through promotion of the program and creation of timely and effective new content that is fit for purpose in a diverse range of markets for CBLA.
- Oversee quality of preparation materials submitted by providers and/or used by OET candidates preparing for OET
- Actively seek out new partnerships to grow the volume of OET preparation materials available in the market in line with CBLA strategy; including vendor management, contract negotiation, publishing plan management, quality assurance review functions.
Test Modernisation
- Devise and implement change management strategies as required to ensure candidates, teachers and other stakeholders react positively to changes to assessment criteria, layout, format etc. of OET as required
- Ensure all preparation material, as well as teaching resources are updated as required to accurately reflect any updates to OET as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level but Masters Degree preferred
Years of experience
- 5 or more years relevant experience in high stakes English Test Preparation
Skills and Experience
Skills
- Substantial experience in innovatively designing, managing and evaluating education testing programs and preparation materials
- Strong leadership with the ability to deliver on key strategic goals
- Ability to devise and implement change management strategies to achieve set targets
- Creativity to lead and support webinars
- Confident and engaging public speaker
- CELTA / TESOL level certification is mandatory
Experience
- Experience delivering and attending education conferences
- Proven ability to devise strategies for education business development
- Familiarity with health care practices and testing material
Technical Competencies
- Very proficient in MS Office
- Very Proficient in CRM / Salesforce
